Billie Godfrey is a British soul singer, songwriter, vocal arranger and coach. As one of the UK’s most successful session artists she has sung with many of the worlds greatest artists including Adele, Amy Winehouse, Sting, Lionel Richie, Prince, Sir Paul McCartney, Chaka Khan, Marc Almond, Beverley Knight, Kylie Minogue, Ed Sheeran, INXS and many others. Her session work includes singing the ad libs based “Ray’s Theme” with composer Craig Armstrong for the Oscar winning film “Ray” based on the life of Ray Charles.

Billie has toured as a featured lead vocalist with Jools Holland & The Rhythm and Blues Orchestra as well as providing backing vocals for his new years eve show Hootenanny for 9 years. She has also performed “Temptation” with Heaven 17 live for many years as well as for TV including ITV’s “Now That’s What I Call 1983”, BBC’s “Children In Need” and “Later With Jools Holland”.

Billie’s songwriting credits include her solo album “The Eden Tree” (iTunes) with which she opened for Beverley Knight on her 2009 UK Tour, including at The Royal Albert Hall. She has also co-written with Heaven 17 (Are You Ready), Mr Hermano, Sao Benitez, Aquasky, Project 2000 (Holland) and is currently writing for a new solo album.

As a vocal arranger Billie has worked alongside many artists to create bespoke backing vocals for both studio and live work. She also arranges for choirs and has been a choir leader for over 8 years including at The Conservatoire of Music and Dance in France (Thouars) and has also led a 50 voice choir performing at Twickenham Rugby Pitch.

Billie now lives in France at Chateau La Grande Maison and continues to tour live with Beverley Knight and Marc Almond as well as continuing her solo work with her french band “The Secret Gardeners”. From France Billie continues her studio arrangements, writing and recording and vocal coaching remotely. Billie currently coaches Technique Vocale at the Conservatoire of Music and dance in Thouars and has recently arranged and performed on “Lean On Me” for the NHS with Joss Stone, Beverley Knight, Omar and other guest artists.
